Ich Lebe

I am pausing now briefly in an Internet cafe before heading to the Jewish Museum, which I am told is worth the visit even just for the architecture.

I must confess that my past few days have had more of the consumer about them than is my wont. I bought some sturdy shoes for a mere €15 (meanwhile, ms. rorschach bought two flashy pairs of shoes for €10). And we dined atop the KaDeWe, with dessert at a confectioner's stand whose menu found it necessary to append asterixes (asterices?) to the two options that did not include alcohol... We avoided those two, and had champagne...

And, may I add, there is something oddly satisfying about playing Uno in an East Berlin flat with one´s wife´s friends while drinking Havana Club...
